Women’s Fashion

“This is going to be the sexiest salon uptown,” said Ric Pipino, whose sprawling new beauty destination, Ric Pipino-Wella Professional Flagship, is more like a really cool apartment. Conceived by Rawlins Calderone Design, the space is superglam, with black and white walls that serve as graphic foil to a colorful mix of vintage and custom furniture and accessories. The front desk is an homage to the ’70s designer Paul Evans, while the slick red “color bar” is pure Donald Judd. Besides a full menu of services, there’s a boutique selling art books and chocolate, and a bar stocked with Scotch and tequila for clients needing something stiffer than Elnett. 115 East 57th Street; (212) 355-5544.
